For over a century, VHA Home HealthCare has been at the heart of our communities—offering care, compassion, and unwavering support to individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
From our beginnings in 1925 with just 14 homemakers supporting new mothers to a team of over 3,000 today, our journey has been shaped by visionary leaders, dedicated staff, and compassionate caregivers—each leaving an indelible mark on the people we serve.
We are more committed than ever to delivering person-centered care, forging collaborative partnerships, informing system transformation, and driving innovation and quality excellence.

Celebrating VHA’s Centenary
Throughout 2025 as we recognize our 100th anniversary, we aim to honour VHA’s legacy, celebrate the support we have been able to provide to clients, families and Ontario’s health care system and look towards the future. Help us celebrate 100 Years of VHA by:
- Signing up to receive VHA’s VOICE newsletter for clients and families or VHA’s Excelerator newsletter for sector colleagues and health partners to stay up to date with our 100th anniversary activities and ways you can get involved.
- Reading stories shared throughout the year in our newsletters and on our website recognizing spectacular care and client outcomes, healthcare innovations and research findings.
- Participating in 100 Years of VHA Trivia in our newsletters.
- Contributing to our Centenary Yearbook by sharing your favourite stories, memories and photos from throughout the years.

Since 1925, VHA has been creating more independence across the communities we serve. Over the course of our 100 – year history, many lives have been touched and countless stories have unfolded.
To mark this special moment for our VHA community, we are creating a commemorative centenary yearbook and we invite you to be a part of it!
Through submissions from clients, families, team members, partners, funders and volunteers past and present, the yearbook will capture VHA’s 100-year legacy. We’re looking for short written pieces and photos that capture the spirit of our VHA community through stories, essays, poems, and images. We also welcome your creativity!
