Commitment to Quality

Commitment to Quality

We are committed to quality and driving care excellence

One of VHA Home HealthCare's (VHA) core beliefs is that care must be spectacular and continuously focused on quality improvement and client safety.

VHA's organization operates within a sound, integrated, board-endorsed, quality, risk & client safety framework known as our Quality and Risk Accountability Structure. You can see our diagram showcasing the structure on this page or by downloading the structure diagram PDF.

This structure shows all the inputs that contribute ongoing improvement and how quality and risk is overseen. Rigorous performance monitoring happens across all levels of the organization, including by VHA’s dedicated Quality & Risk Management Committee of the Board.

At VHA, every team member is responsible for quality and safety. There are many ways you will see this in action with your care team, some examples are provided below:

  • Care providers may complete risk assessments for falls prevention and home safety with clients and families
  • Clients may receive recommendations for home safety and mobility equipment by their care team
  • Care providers may provide medication safety checks with clients and their families
  • Clients and their families have opportunities to provide feedback on service quality by talking with care team members and responding to satisfaction surveys

Through VHA's commitment to quality, we keep you and your loved ones safe while receiving the care you need at home.

Code of Ethical Conduct

The purpose of the Code of Ethical Conduct (Code) is to provide a set of ethical principles to be used as a guide for all of VHA’s representatives and its day-to-day operations. By using an umbrella approach, the Code supplements VHA’s other policies and procedures by providing over-arching guidance to ensure that behavior and activities are always conducted in a sound and ethical manner.
