Program led by Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOCs) with a focus on prevention and reduction in incidence of chronic wounds and pressure injuries. A NSWOC nurse provides specialized holistic assessment and management as an interprofessional team member to meet the needs of individuals with ostomies, acute and chronic wounds. Our program uses a systematic approach to track progress that leads to better outcomes. This results in lower costs, morbidity, and decreased pain and suffering for clients.

VHA has a caring team of certified foot care nurses. To stay mobile and healthy, our feet should receive regular attention and care. VHA’s nurses will take care of clients’ feet with a focus on prevention, treatment and ongoing care management to keep your feet happy and healthy. With the proper foot care, symptoms of fungal infections of the nail and skin, corns and calluses, foot pain, athlete’s foot, warts, nail care and ingrown nails can be treated. Seniors and diabetics who may have challenges caring for their feet can receive regular foot care visits that improve overall health and mobility.

• VHA is experienced in delivering foot care clinics in Long Term Care, Supportive Housing and Adult Day Program settings and has a robust community foot care services program delivered in clients’ homes.
