Call for Research Participants: Home Care Journey Mapping
Many home care clients might need more care in hospital at some point when living in the community and receiving personal support. These transitions to and from hospital can be a source of stress for clients and their family.
We want to explore these experiences to better understand why the transition to hospital happened, and what went well and what could be done to maybe improve the experience.
YOUR CARE AND PRIVACY
As a participant, you will receive the same quality care if you choose to participate. A researcher will speak with you by phone or by video, at a time that is convenient for you. You will be asked about your experience and to share your thoughts and feelings about needing to go to hospital and returning home. You might be asked to participate in a follow-up interview.
If you participate, your information is confidential. We won’t show any identifying information in reports, presentations, etc. from this study.
ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS
We are seeking people who are +18 years old and had a hospital admission in 2021 that required that their VHA personal support services were placed on hold and:
- Are available and willing to participate in an interview, with the possibility of a follow-up interview
- Are willing to share experiences, including thoughts and feelings, related to going to and from hospital,
- Are living within the greater Toronto area, and
- Can participate in an English-language interview/conversation
