VHA Home HealthCare is excited to announce the appointment of Tracey Turriff to Vice President, Public Relations and Chief Communications Officer.

This is a new senior leadership position for our organization that signals the importance of our ongoing efforts to raise VHA’s visibility and profile to help us build greater awareness of the value of home care so we can partner and collaborate to deliver more care at home and in the community and contribute to the government’s agenda for a more integrated healthcare system.

Tracey has been with VHA since 2019 as our lead for Communications. Over the last five years, Tracey has been a driving factor in building VHA’s reputation as a thought leader, solution finder and system builder across the health system. Her key accomplishments include steering a four-year, highly successful thought leadership strategy, taking the lead on all internal and external communications during the COVID-19 pandemic, launching “News You Need” – VHA’s biweekly internal newsletter, expanding our social media and digital marketing efforts, enhancing client and partner communications, leading launch communications for the myVHA client portal, co-leading the rebranding of VHA’s Responsive Community Care programs and services, directing VHA’s 4 Impact Reports, and being a key member of the steering committee for the development of our new strategic plan – which clearly outlines our commitment to ongoing thought leadership and positive collective advocacy for equity and equality for our clients, carers, and teams and to position home and community care as the preferred care solution.

Tracey has an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology from Queen’s University, a Master of Arts in Communications with a Specialization in Health Communications from the University of Ottawa and is certified in change management. She is the Co-Chair for Communications and Engagement for East Toronto Health Partners Ontario Health Team (OHT), Communications Co-Chair for Scarborough OHT and contributes to multiple sector tables focused on integrated care communications. In her new role, Tracey will continue to provide strategic communications leadership for the organization while focusing on the development and implementation of a government relations strategy and continuing to advance VHA’s position as a thought leader with a refreshed focus on mainstream media and our leadership presence on social media.

We are confident that Tracey’s rich communications expertise, her collaborative approach and her deep commitment to our Purpose and First Principles will make her a valuable contributor to the senior leadership of our organization. Please join us in congratulating Tracey on her promotion to this inaugural and important role at VHA.
