Welcome 2025: Leading the Future of Health and Independence at Home
Happy New Year to VHA’s team members, clients and families, partners, funders and volunteers.
2025 marks an exciting time at VHA Home HealthCare (VHA) — we are embarking on a new Strategic Plan 2025-2030: Leading the Future of Health and Independence at Home and we are celebrating VHA’s 100th anniversary!
Our new strategy builds on VHA’s foundational areas of strength as a collaborative and creative partner with a dedicated team of home care specialists who provide high quality, compassionate care in homes and communities across Ontario. New areas of focus include elevating our commitment to home care science, ensuring our care and services are psychologically and culturally safe, resilient to climate change and environmentally sensitive, and taking action to advance reconciliation through the implementation of key recommendations from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action. For the next five years we are committed to building systems, finding solutions and taking the lead on specific integration initiatives to be an organization that drives change and innovation and is an important part of the future of a stronger healthcare system in Ontario.
Our new purpose — Care at home. Delivered with heart. Led by science. — speaks to these commitments across our five strategic priorities: system solutions, science, seamless service, home care specialists and sustainability.
In 2025 we will be recognizing and honouring VHA’s legacy of providing care and support to vulnerable people in the community for 100 years.
We look forward to celebrating this significant milestone throughout the year and hope you will join us by contributing to VHA’s Centenary Yearbook and trivia challenge.

As we celebrate a century of spectacular care, I am excited by VHA’s future as we work together to deliver on our purpose, thrive as an organization and meaningfully contribute to a well-functioning health system.
Thank you as ever for your support and collaboration,
