Emma Perera is a Research Assistant at VHA Home HealthCare.

She has a Master’s degree in Public Health from the Schulich Interfaculty Program of Public Health at the University of Western Ontario. With a focus on qualitative, strengths-based research, Emma is dedicated to enhancing the wellbeing of home and community care providers.

Some of her recent work seeks to promote the reporting of workplace violence and harassment incidents among personal support workers, leveraging an existing, integrated application within the organization to foster a safer and more secure environment for care providers. In addition, Emma’s recent research also focuses on addressing the mental health and wellbeing of point-of-care providers, specifically through supporting nurses in leadership roles.

Emma is passionate about community engagement, health equity, and improving the wellbeing of older adults, point-of-care providers, and individuals in positions of vulnerability.
