Dr. Mehdy Dousty PhD

Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr. Mehdy Dousty is a postdoctoral fellow in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at the University of Toronto and the Vector Institute. His primary research focuses on developing machine learning methods for health, particularly in predicting falls in elderly adults using wearable and non-wearable technology.

He holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto, where he developed computer vision algorithms using machine learning methods to analyze hand function in individuals with spinal cord injury using egocentric video at their home. Mehdy also holds an M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Calgary, focusing on computational neuroscience and non-linear signal processing. His research interests include gait analysis and pose estimation, medical signal and image processing, and machine learning.
