Your feet are complex. Each one has more than 26 bones and uses 33 joints – as well as muscles and tendons – to move you from one place to another. They help you balance, keep you mobile, support your body and absorb shock when walking or running. Improper posture or footwear, health issues such as diabetes, and conditions inherited from birth or developed over time, such as corns or fungal infections, can affect your foot health and cause pain. If you’re experiencing foot problems, pain, or notice any abnormal changes to your feet, VHA’s trained professionals can help.

VHA has a caring team of certified foot care nurses. Your foot care nurse will bring all the necessary equipment to your home to treat a range of foot conditions. Your nurse will take care of your feet and nails and work with you to determine the best ways to keep your feet happy and healthy. With the correct foot care, symptoms of fungal infections of the nail and skin, corns and calluses, foot pain, athlete’s foot, warts, nail care and ingrown nails can be treated. Seniors and diabetics who may have challenges caring for their feet can receive regular foot care visits that improve overall health and mobility.

Rate: $67.00 per visit (as of Jan 1, 2024)

Shift nurses provide care on an hourly basis in a home or school setting. Shift nurses can support personal care and medical interventions such as tube feed preparation and medication administration. These services are provided by either a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or a Registered Nurse (RN).

Rate: $52.00 – $60.00 per hour (as of Jan 1, 2024)

Visiting nurses provide goal-oriented care–usually in a short-term capacity. The visit is specific to a task or goal that is then taught and delegated to the client to do, if possible. These services are provided by either a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or a Registered Nurse (RN).

Rate: $58.90 – $64.25 per visit (as of Jan 1, 2024)

Personal care services can include daily living activities like grooming, dressing and bathing, meal planning and preparation, light household duties such as cleaning, laundry and washing dishes, support services for parents with newborns, multiple births and/or children with special needs, etc. Service are provided by a Personal Support Worker.

Rate: $34.15 per hour (as of Jan 1, 2024)
A two hour minimum is required when purchasing this service.

At VHA, our rehabilitation services are covered under our VHA Rehab Solutions branch. VHA Rehab Solutions offers support at home, work or school to help people preserve or regain their independence. Depending on your care plan, our services are provided by a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Dietitian, Speech Language Pathologist or Social Worker.

Rate: $107.10 – $156.50 per session (as of Jan 1, 2024)
